The Latin Grammy awards are coming up in two short weeks, and this year the website has made it easier than ever for you to catch some Grammy-nominated tunes. Check out the Latin Grammy Playlist Hub, powered by spotify, to listen to Latin Grammy-nominated music by category. Lately, whenever I’m at my computer working (which is a LOT right now), my earbuds are in and I’ve got this great music going.
As you listen, keep a file open or a notepad handy to jot down titles of songs that have repetitious features you can use in class (like Carlos Vives’s Volví a nacer, which repeats quiero and puedo).
As a recommendation, here’s what I’m enjoying most:
Record of the Year: Tanto, Pablo Alborán; Vivir mi vida, Marc Anthony; Bachata Rosa, Natalie Cole; Más y Más, Draco Rosa; and my favorite, Volví a Nacer, Carlos Vives.
Song of the Year – for sure, Llorar by Jesse y Joy with Mario Domm.
There are some fantastic fresh faces nominated for Best New Artist; catch Eliacim, Jesús Hidalgo, Mojito Lite, Gaby Moreno (whose collaboration on Fuiste Tú with Ricardo Arjona was amazing), and Quattro (great instrumentals).
Enjoy and don’t forget to watch the Latin Grammy awards on Thursday, November 21 on Univisión to see who wins.
