just enough theory to give teachers a language-learner lens,
a laser focus on improving teacher experience, and
hands-on help developing specific, achievable learner outcomes related to everyday and academic communication.

Musicuentos PD

I typically offer workshops in three formats:

2 hours: specific strategies tailored to your teachers and language learners
$400
2 sessions: two 3-hour sessions with the first focused on how learners acquire language and the second focused on how this affects daily lesson planning for (interpersonal) speaking and writing, presentational language, and listening and reading (interpretive) skills
$800
2 days: a more intensive look at how children acquire language and what this means for teaching strategies, with a focus on making everyday lessons across subjects or within the specific language class leverage the brain’s language acquisition power
$1500

Custom scaffolded resources for your learners:
English language learners, particularly in middle and high school, face high standards with limited language skills. Build both with a custom scaffolded resource that helps learners improve language while comprehending core content, from the solar system to the banking system. Check out this Salem witch trials resource as an example. Resources can be ordered singly or in packages of 5 or 10 and used across the school/district in perpetuity.
