As we all wait for me to wrap up developing the ebook guide to Esperanza renace (last chapter and editing!), I’m announcing in this post that my ebook guide to La ciudad de las bestias by Isabel Allende is now a free resource.
I loved teaching Ciudad and I still believe it’s the best fiction I’ve seen as a novel for AP Spanish, but unfortunately, its availability has become frustratingly low. I’m not sure if the book is officially out of print, but copies have become prohibitively expensive and sold only by third-party sellers (on Amazon, anyway). You can get some copies at reasonable copies at AbeBooks, though, and the Kindle version is also available. (Heads up that the page number references in my guide may not be applicable if you get these newer versions.)
And so, I change my copyright on this document to CC-BY. Please direct interested teachers to download it directly from my site instead of sharing the document electronically, but otherwise, copy away. Enjoy the book!
